Cassandra & Shane | Photography by Distinct Image Photography

Cassandra met Shane chose Adelaide’s beautiful Veale Gardens for their October ceremony, and the ballroom at Ayers House for their reception. Cassandra, a self-confessed ‘girly girl’, opted for a romantic wedding theme with a pink, white and silver colour palette. Her style inspiration was to create a romantic, fun day that was understated yet elegant.

Prior to their wedding the couple were living in Tasmania, so much of the wedding planning was done online. They ordered Shane and his groomsmen’s suits on the internet in a package that included shirts and shoes, while the boys’ Georgio Armani ties were purchased online from David Jones.

Cassandra chose a dreamy silk and chiffon Fiorenza empire gown that featured a glittering diamanté brooch just below the bustline. She accessorised with a diamanté bracelet and matching earrings, and wore ivory white Tony Bianco shoes with stilletto heels and a silver diamanté bow. The bridesmaids looked divine in baby pink halter neck dresses, and as the weather was chilly, Cassandra gave each girl a matching chiffon wrap.

The couple hired chairs and a carpet runner for the ceremony, and purchased tea light candles for the reception. Cassandra and her bridesmaids did an amazing job of creating beautiful floral table decorations, and on the eve of the wedding, made their own delightful bouquets.

A solid week of rain before their garden wedding day caused Cassandra and Shane more than a little anxiety, and the forecast for the weekend was for more rain, so imagine their delight when they awoke on the day to bright blue skies and relatively mild weather! They say that they could not have asked for more perfect conditions.

The ceremony was held in front of a beautiful water feature, with the afternoon sun slanting through the trees to create some truly wonderful photos. Following their sincere and heartfelt ceremony, they signed the marriage documents and celebrated with a glass of Freycinet Radenti before a wonderful photo shoot in the parklands. The bridal party continued celebrating in the limousine on their way to a fantastic reception. With an à la carte menu choice of two entrées, and three main meals, everyone enjoyed a delicious meal before a dessert of delectable cupcakes.

As the Ayers House ballroom is already quite opulent, the couple kept their reception decorations relatively simple. Their cake was much admired by their 32 guests. Made up of individual cupcakes with one large cutting cake sitting on the top tier, each cake was decorated with a pretty heart. The cupcakes were white chocolate with baby pink butter icing, each sitting in an elegant black paper case. Cassandra and Shane opted for a bomboniere of mixed chocolates presented in a clear gift box.

Cassandra and Shane had invested in a number of dance lessons before their wedding and although their first dance wasn’t quite as professional on the night as they had hoped it would be, they had a great time and enjoyed themselves immensely!
Their DJ was a definite hit, playing guest requests and keeping everyone on the dance floor as they happily danced the night away. It was a perfect ending to a perfect day. After a celebration they will never forget, the couple honeymooned for ten days in the Maldives, before spending a further ten days in the north island of New Zealand at Puka Park Resort.
